Welcome to our Club
If you like taking pictures and the social aspect of learning and sharing your images, then you might enjoy becoming a member of the Sidney Shutterbugs.
As amateur photographers, we enjoy location shoots and bi-monthly meetings where we share our images and have an opportunity to learn from knowledgeable speakers and each other. We have monthly presentations on topics such as travel, wildlife, tabletop, astral, food, lighting, and lifestyle photography. There are also regular themed competitions.
From beginner to advanced skilled photographers, we continually seek opportunities to improve our photographic expertise. We encourage one another to explore new learning opportunities through hands-on assignments and group location shoots.
As we emerge from Covid limitations, we have cautiously resumed our regular meetings with a hybrid version of in-person and Zoom meetings.
In-person meetings are held at the Mary Winspear Center in Sidney. They will be on the third Thursday of every month. Look for us in Room 4. Whenever practical, the meetings will also be broadcast via Zoom for members unable to attend.
Zoom-only meetings will be on the first Thursday of every month but stay tuned for those dates, as they may fluctuate somewhat, depending upon the availability of the Zoom presenters.
Location shoots with social lunches also return to the club this year. We are always looking for ideas from our members for photo opportunities.
Potential new members are welcome to come and check us out at our in-person meetings with no obligation or fees for your initial visits.
Membership is required to access most of our website and online activities.

“A great photograph is one that fully expresses what one feels, in the deepest sense, about what is being photographed and is, thereby, a true manifestation of what one feels about life in its entirety.”.......Ansel Adams
